Subject: Publication of Schedule of Election of the Muktijoddha Sangshad
The Election Commission formed to conduct the election of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Command Council election 2010 for the central, district, and Upazilla command hereby declare the following schedule for the said election in the same day:
- Publication of draft voter list and start of receiving application for migration: 06 May 2010, Thursday
- Last day of accepting any claim, objection, and amendment on the draft voter list: 10 May 2010, Monday
- Last date for settlement of claim, objection and amendment : 11 May 2010, Tuesday
- Last date for submission of appeal against the decision of the assistant registration officer and on migration 13 May 2010 Thursday
- Date of settlement of appeal by the registration officer: 16 May 2010, Sunday
- Date of publication of the amended draft after settlement of objection, claim, correction, and appeal for migration: 18 May 2010, Tuesday
- Date for publication of final voter list: 19 May 2010 Wednesday
- Date for submission of nomination paper: 25 May 2010, Tuesday
- Scrutiny of nomination paper: 26 May 2010, Wednesday
- Last date for appeal against any order of the returning officer regarding the nomination paper: 30 May 2010, Sunday

This may please be noted that all actions would be transacted during the office hours. All Registration officers/ Assistant registration officers and Returning officers are requested to arrange wider circulation of this schedule.
2. Appointment of Registration officer/ Assistant registration officer:
All the Additional district magistrates are appointed as registration officers and all the Upazilla Nirbahi Officers are appointed as Assistant registration officers for preparation of the voter list for the election of the Muktijoddha Sangshad election. The additional deputy commissioners (General) of all the metropolitan areas (Dhaka, Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet) are appointed as registration officers to prepare the voter list.
The Additional Deputy Commissioners (General) of Metropolitan areas will appoint assistant registration officer under their jurisdiction on zone basis. The Assistant registration officers are authorized to appoint an assistant officer in consultation with the registration officers. Appointment letters have already been issued to this effect already.
3 Appointment of Returning Officer, Assistant Returning Officer:
The government has appointed Mr. Md. Zakir Hossain, joint secretary for election of Muktijoddha Command Council; Additional Deputy Commissioner General for the metropolitan areas, Additional district magistrates for the rest of the districts for district command election , Upazilla Nirbahi Officers for all the Upazilla command council election, and letters to these effect has already been issued. All returning officers for district command election will act as assistant returning officer for the election of the central command council election; and all the Upazilla Nirbahi Officers will act as associate officers for the election. The Upazilla Nirbahi Officers will act as assistant returning officer in the elections of the district command council elections.
- Appellate authority and chief coordinator:
Any affected candidate for the central command council election nomination can appeal against the scrutiny decision of the returning officer to the election commission. The deputy commissioners will act as the appellate authority for their respective district to deal with the complaints on scrutiny of nomination papers for the district command and Upazilla command council elections. In addition, all the deputy commissioners of the district will act as the coordinators for the respective districts on voter list preparation, conduction of election including all matters related to the election of the Muktijoddha Command council election.
- Preparation of preliminary voter list:
To implement the declared schedule of the election as notified vide memo of 08/04/2010 of the election commission, it is essential to prepare the draft voter list. It is therefore requested to all to send the draft voter list by 29/04/2010 and to take steps for timely implement all steps concerning the schedule of the election.
